Bring Buddy home

Bring Buddy home

Meet Buddy! A sweet and cuddly 75-pound lap dog (or so he thinks) at 2 years old. He has the most handsome face with bright golden eyes, adorable freckles on his nose and big floppy ears. You could say he is a mutt, since he looks a bit like a Saint Bernard, Hound and Lab/Retriever mix, but the best dogs are!

He is very loyal, adores his people and gives sweet little kisses to let you know how much he loves you. He has a chill personality and is the perfect “couch potato” dog. He loves to play in the backyard and wrestle with his foster fur-siblings. His spurts of energy don’t last long and he tires out quickly… that’s a lot of dog to move around! He knows sit, especially for treats and takes them gently from your hand. He rides great in the car, is a good boy on walks and is house/crate trained. He gets along great with other dogs and is cat safe too.

Buddy’s ideal furever home would have a big backyard with at least a 5’ fence. He does bark in the crate so would be best suited for a house. He’d love some kiddos, but due to his big size would be best with kids 10 and older so to not knock them over.

Buddy was found by one of our volunteers running alongside a Dallas highway. It was clear from his limping that he had experienced some trauma during his time as a stray. Paws in the City rescued Buddy and provided him with the medical care he so desperately needed. He has two surgeries the last few months and is recovering well post-surgery. His spirits are high and you’d never know he had two intense surgeries in the past couple months!
