Join us on a floral odyssey as we highlight seven enchanting flower farms, some offering fruit, vegetables and/or wine, to visit in Texas.

Wildseed Farms, Fredericksburg

Immerse yourself in the vibrant beauty of Texas Hill Country at Wildseed Farms, where over 200 acres of wildflowers paint the landscape in a riot of colors from March through October. From bluebonnets to Indian paintbrushes, the fields come alive with the sights and scents of springtime in Texas. 

Stroll through the half mile Wildseed trails and butterfly gardens or shop in “one of the largest plant nurseries in Central Texas,” offering seasonal plants, gardening products, garden décor and much more.

Sweet Berry Farms, Marble Falls

Nestled amid the scenic beauty of Marble Falls, the 152-acre Sweet Berry Farms is a haven for flower enthusiasts and berry pickers alike. And while tulip season may be over, the farm claims to have the “best laid out strawberry and pumpkin patch.” Strawberry season at the farm is mid-March through mid-May and you only pay for what you pick. If you’re looking for flowers, Ranunculus is now in season and sunflowers will be ready to pick from late May through late June. If you have kids in tow, the farm offers activities like its Berry Bounce [house], sand art, Sweet Berry Express Barrel Train, paint a pot, pony rides — all for a fee — once strawberry season begins. If you visit in the fall, there’s a variety of activities offered focused around a pumpkin theme.

Hill Country Lavender Farm, Blanco

With rows of lavender planted in two fields in a valley in Blanco, Hill Country Lavender Farm visitors will experience the timeless allure of lavender fields in full bloom, creating a picturesque setting for all. 

In addition to its annual Lavender Festival June 7-9, Hill Country Lavender Farm offers a range of activities and amenities for visitors to enjoy throughout the year. Guided tours of the farm provide insight into the history and cultivation of lavender, while hands-on workshops offer the opportunity to create lavender-inspired crafts and products. Arnosky Family Farms, Blanco

While in Blanco visit Arnosky Family Farms, considered “Texas’ premier cut flower farm and garden.” Founded by Pamela and Frank Arnosky, this family-owned farm welcomes visitors to wander through the fields, selecting their own bouquet of freshly cut flowers — a personalized touch that adds to the farm’s charm and allure. From cheerful sunflowers to delicate larkspurs, there’s a bloom for every taste and occasion.

But Arnosky Family Farms isn’t just a local treasure; it’s also a supplier to Central Market and H-E-B stores, sharing its wide variety — over 50 types — of fresh cut flowers to the public. 

Aside from flowers grown onsite, the Arnosky’s well-known Blue Barn on the premises is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers barn-fresh eggs, local goat cheese, vegetable and herb plants, potted flowers and hanging baskets. Sweet Eats Fruit Farm, Georgetown

Just a short drive north of Austin, Sweet Eats Fruit Farm offers a delightful escape into the heart of Texas’ agricultural bounty. In addition to their orchards where you can pick your own strawberries and three types of peaches in season, the farm hosts a variety of events year-round. In May, the farm is hosting a Mother’s Day Brunch that also includes an opportunity to pick your own flowers. In June, six acres of the farm property is transformed into two blooming fields with over 35 different varieties of sunflowers that you can pick.

Abundant Flower Farm, Blue Ridge

Closer to home, Abundant Flower Farm is a family farm that is dedicated to sustainable agriculture and the artistry of flower cultivation. From cheerful sunflowers to delicate cosmos, the fields come alive with a kaleidoscope of hues, offering a picturesque backdrop for visitors to explore and enjoy.

The farm’s primary growing season is March through September and when the flowers are abundant, the farm runs a self-serve flower stand where they offer specialty cut flowers to the local community at “economical” prices. For those who want to pick their own, the owners open the fields for “u-picks” where you can stroll through the fields, take photos, feed the animals and pick your own bucket of flowers.

Becker Vineyards, Stonewall
