North Texas Giving Day connects donors with nonprofits making a difference close to home

North Texas nonprofits will once again take center stage Sept. 17 as thousands of donors come together for North Texas Giving Day, an annual fundraising event benefiting organizations serving communities across the region.
Now in its 18th year, North Texas Giving Day has grown into one of the region’s largest charitable giving efforts. In 2025, more than 100,000 North Texans donated $78 million to more than 3,500 nonprofits supporting causes ranging from education, health and social services to the arts, environment and animal welfare. Since its inception, the event has generated $712 million for North Texas nonprofits.
This year’s giving season officially begins Aug. 27, allowing donors to make gifts in advance that count toward the Sept. 17 event. Communities Foundation of Texas, which presents North Texas Giving Day, is covering transaction and technology fees, allowing 100% of online donations made through the platform to go directly to participating organizations.
For donors, the event offers an opportunity to support causes that matter to them — including organizations serving their own communities. Participating nonprofits must provide services in North Texas and be recognized as Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charities. Participation, however, does not constitute an endorsement of an organization’s mission by Communities Foundation of Texas or its Giving Day partners.
And North Texas Giving Day is only part of the local nonprofit picture. Not every nonprofit participates or registers for the event, and the organizations featured here represent only a sampling of those serving communities throughout the In & Around area.
Following are some of the local nonprofits participating in this year’s North Texas Giving Day, along with their missions, fundraising goals and some of the needs donations can help meet. Donors can search for participating organizations and give at NorthTexasGivingDay.org through Sept. 17.
5 Loaves Ministries — Sachse
Giving goal: $60,000
Mission: A faith-based organization providing support for people of all ages while nourishing both body and soul.
Your gift can help: Support a food pantry serving more than 800 families each week; provide diapers, wipes, bottles and formula to families; supply students with clean clothing; and provide job-skills training for teens and young adults with special needs through the Transition to Life program.
Agape/Jericho Village — Plano/Wylie
Giving goal: $300,000
Mission: Agape Resource & Assistance Center helps women, moms and children facing homelessness find stability and self-sufficiency through housing and supportive services.
Your gift can help: Provide wraparound services including family support, life skills and financial coaching, housing and transportation assistance, health care and counseling, childcare and children’s programs, and education and job training.
Amazing Grace Food Pantry
Giving goal: $10,000
Mission: Helping fight hunger in North Texas through Christ’s love and the generosity of the community.
Your gift can help: Meet growing demand for food assistance, including staples such as cereal and soup. Donations also support the Food 4 Kids program, which provides child-friendly foods such as cereal cups, protein bars, ravioli cups, Pop-Tarts, fruit cups, freeze-dried fruit, juice and milk.
CASA of Collin County
Giving goal: $85,000
Mission: CASA of Collin County trains and supports volunteers who serve as court-appointed advocates for children in the child welfare system who have experienced abuse, abandonment or neglect.
Your gift can help: Recruit, train and support volunteer advocates who provide consistency, compassion and a voice for children and youth during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
Chefsville — Rowlett
Giving goal: $30,000
Mission: Chefsville uses cooking to teach children life skills, critical thinking and problem-solving while incorporating math, science, language arts and social studies.
Your gift can help: Provide scholarships so children can participate regardless of their families’ ability to pay, as well as small appliances, cutting boards, measuring cups and spoons, children’s knives, paper, toner and disposable plates and utensils.
City Missions — Plano
Giving goal: $20,000
Mission: City Missions envisions a community where everyone has stable housing and the resources needed to maintain it.
Your gift can help: A $20 donation can provide an individual with essentials such as a hygiene kit, clean clothes and socks; $30 can help provide meals; $250 can fuel five outreach trips; and $1,500 can support someone’s journey from homelessness toward recovery, housing or long-term case management.
Friends of Ace — Princeton
Giving goal: $20,000
Mission: Friends of Ace walks alongside adults with special needs, helping unify the community through lasting friendships.
Your gift can help: Sponsorships ranging from $25 to $1,000 support annual memberships for adults with special needs, Friendship Clubs of eight participants, community events and the development of new programs.
Hidden Pastures — Wylie
Giving goal: $15,000
Mission: Hidden Pastures creates accessible, horse-centered farm experiences designed to help youth, veterans, first responders, families and other community members build connection, confidence, responsibility and a sense of belonging.
Your gift can help: Care for horses and other farm animals through feed, hay, veterinary and farrier care; provide scholarships and reduced-cost programs; and support fencing, shelters, pasture improvements and other farm needs. Donations also support youth and teen programs, experiences for veterans and first responders, and volunteer and community projects.
Hope Bridge Pregnancy Resource
Center — Wylie
Giving goal: $120,000
Mission: Hope Bridge works to affirm and promote the value of life for women, children and families through compassionate care and Christ-centered ministry.
Your gift can help: Keep services available to women and families facing unplanned pregnancies; provide pregnancy testing and ultrasounds; offer childbirth and parenting education; stock the Baby Boutique with diapers, clothing and other essentials; and support trained advocates and health professionals providing one-on-one care.
Hope’s Door New Beginning Center — Garland
Giving goal: $50,000
Mission: Hope’s Door New Beginning Center provides intervention and prevention services for individuals and families affected by intimate partner and family violence while helping communities better respond to abuse.
Your gift can help: Provide care packages containing full-size hygiene products, clothing and new packaged undergarments for adults and families seeking safety. Support also can come through monthly giving, urgent-needs drives, volunteer opportunities and annual business partnerships.
Hope’s Gate — Wylie
Giving goal: $10,000
Mission: Hope’s Gate offers practical, life-giving hope to orphans, victims of human trafficking and some of the world’s most vulnerable people.
Your gift can help: Keep students in school, in safe housing and moving toward independence. A $94 gift can purchase textbooks and supplies for a year; $500 can provide safe housing for a year; and $2,000 can sponsor a student’s full educational needs for a year.
In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Center — Wylie
Giving goal: $250,000
Mission: In-Sync Exotics provides a caring, safe haven for rescued exotic cats, including animals that are old, injured or unwanted.
Your gift can help: Meet the sanctuary’s substantial ongoing costs, including more than $21,000 per month for food and more than $250,000 annually for medical care. This year’s campaign also will help transform previously unusable land into permanent sanctuary space and create new natural habitats for rescued animals.
Donations of up to $18,000 are being matched during the campaign.
North Texas Wildlife Center — Plano
Giving goal: $50,000
Mission: North Texas Wildlife Center is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured and orphaned native wildlife.
Your gift can help: Support expansion of the wildlife intake center, including a quarantine facility and additional outdoor pre-release enclosures, as well as veterinary care and other expenses associated with rehabilitating wildlife for release.
Poiema Foundation — Rockwall
Giving goal: $75,000
Mission: Poiema Foundation works to prevent sexual abuse, sex trafficking and other forms of sexual exploitation through education and public awareness. The organization also operates a safe house providing long-term, trauma-informed care for survivors of human trafficking.
Your gift can help: Provide housing and comprehensive care for women participating in Poiema’s residential program, including support for their physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual needs.
Powered to Move
Giving goal: $20,000, with
a $10,000 match
Mission: Powered to Move provides people affected by disabilities opportunities to stay active while increasing physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Your gift can help: Support adapted fitness classes and the AMP’d Summer Series; transportation to and from activities; hand cycling and Wingman Racing; and social events that foster confidence, friendship and connection.
Shutt’er Down Ranch & Rescue — Farmersville
Giving goal: $10,000
Mission: Shutt’er Down Ranch, a 30-acre sanctuary and home to Girty’s Place Animal Rescue, provides a permanent safe haven for rescued farm animals.
Your gift can help: Expand facilities to accommodate a growing number of animals in need, including construction of a livestock shelter for additional coverage, and help pay ongoing medical expenses for animals in the rescue’s care.
Wylie Community Band — Wylie
Giving goal: $6,000
Mission: Wylie Community Band provides a musical outlet for community members while offering public performances and fostering an appreciation for concert band music.
Your gift can help: Cover rehearsal and performance venue rentals, marketing and printed programs, music purchases and insurance. Funding also will support the band’s co-sponsorship of “Wylie in the Meyerson,” planned for March 6, 2027.
Wylie Ministerial Alliance/Wylie Christian Care Center — Wylie
Giving goal: $20,000
Mission: Wylie Christian Care Center walks alongside families facing difficult circumstances, providing emergency assistance while working to restore dignity and hope through the compassion of Christ.
Your gift can help: Provide food, clothing, diapers, pet food, and utility and rent assistance. This year’s needs also include support for a mobile coffee trailer that would become part of the center’s Adulting Well program, giving students hands-on training and real-world work experience.
